 The Southcoast Mentoring Initiative for Learning, Education and Service (SMILES) is a coalition of caring people and organizations from around the SouthCoast region of Massachusetts dedicated to creating quality, mentoring matches for the children of the area. The mission of SMILES is to obtain a mentor for every child who needs one. The New Bedford Chamber is a founding member of SMILES and continues to play a significant role in the recruitment of mentors for various SMILES programs.
SMILES MISSION:

discover and pursue their dreams

service is an enjoyable lifelong endeavor.
