The SouthCoast Education Compact is a collaborative partnership of business, higher education, K-12 education and community leaders who recognize that education is the most critical component in supporting sustainable economic development. The Compact is committed to increasing overall educational attainment in the region through systemic initiatives.

In addition to the New Bedford Chamber, the Compact includes SouthCoast superintendents, community and business leaders, and private sector companies in a collaborative body that provides structure and oversight for Compact activities and initiatives. The SouthCoast Education Compact includes the communities of Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fall River, Dioceses of Fall River, Fairhaven, New Bedford, Swansea, Seekonk, Somerset, Wareham, Westport, Marion, and Mattapoisett.
