SOUTHEASTERN MASSACHUSETTS
AGRICULTURAL PARTNERSHIP

The Chamber is actively involved with the Southeastern Massachusetts Agricultural Partnership (SEMAP). SEMAP is a regional coalition of local growers, not-for-profit agencies, and educational and governmental organizations that provide financial, technical, business, outreach and other support services to the agricultural sector in Southeastern Massachusetts to help ensure a secure and profitable future for agriculture in the region.

Southeastern Massachusetts has a rich and diverse heritage of farming, with both traditional and non-traditional operations that range from dairy to vineyards to hydroponic vegetables, specialty herbs, and shellfish farms. SEMAP was formed in 1998 to help the region’s farmers and aquaculture operators navigate through the maze of agencies and organizations that provide technical, business management, educational, or financial support to farming operations and to address assistance needs identified within the farming community.
